![]() Doofenshmirtz (2nd Dimension): Well how did you feel when you lost that toy train? Dr. Doofenshmirtz: That's your emotionally scarring backstory?! That's your "great tragedy?" I was raised by ocelots, I mean literally: disowned by my parents and raised by Central American wildcats, a-and you're telling me you just lost a toy train? That's it?! That's all you got, really?! I had to work as a lawn gnome, I was forced to wear hand-me-up girl's clothing, neither of my parents showed up for my birth! Dr. Doofenshmirtz (2nd Dimension): What do you mean? Dr. Doofenshmirtz (2nd Dimension): True evil is born through pain and loss, you see when I was a small boy back in Gimmelshtump, I had a toy train. Doofenshmirtz: If you and I are the same person, why are you so much better at being evil than me? Dr. Doofenshmirtz: Wait a minute, I just realized: that was a conscious choice! You peed on my couch!ĭr. Phineas: You're evil? He's evil?! So not only have you been lying to us this whole time, but you just stood there while we helped an evil scientist open an evil portal into an evil dimension! And you did nothing to stop us?! Ferb: Well, he did pee on the couch. Doofenshmirtz: Actually, I'm an evil scientist, but a lot of people get. Phineas: You fight a pharmacist? Why would you even do that?! Dr. Doofenshmirtz: No, no, he fights me, he doesn't really know this guy. Phineas: So this is where you disappear to every day? You come here and fight this guy?! Dr. No, it's okay, platypusses don't typically like me. OW, OW, OW! Phineas: Perry, no! We do not bite the elderly! Dr. Doofenshmirtz: Aww, well, he's a cute little fella. Doofenshmirtz: Is every platypus named Perry? Phineas: In a perfect world, yes. Doofenshmirtz: Perry? Phineas: Yeah, he's our pet platypus. If you did like the series, this movie is worth its weight in gold.Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension is a 2011 Disney Channel original film based on the TV series Phineas and Ferb.ĭialogue Phineas: Oh, there you are, Perry. ![]() If you didn't like the series, this movie might not be for you. This movie managed to reveal the biggest secret of the show, play out its consequences, then wrap it up in a neat bow without impeding on the original series. It's a fun movie that tugs at the heart strings while also leaving us with a lot of great one liners, such as "Neither of my parents showed up at my birth". From that perspective, this movie had a creative plot that gives fans a new look at each character. It's not a stand-alone movie you can pick up like many other Disney movies. To give context, this movie is meant for fans who already have at least a familiarity with the series. I am still bummed out by the fact that a theatrical P&F movie never saw the light of day and I don't really have any interest in watching Candace Against The Universe but Phineas and Ferb's first movie is still worth your time if you're a fan of the show. ![]() While not as consistently funny as the show was, having an ending that feels like a cop-out because God forbid any changes to the status quo are made for more creative episodes in the future and some of Phineas' uncharacteristic hostility feels uncalled for, understandable as some of it might be (keyword here being "some") but Across the 2nd Dimension is still a fun DCOM with good animation, a darker plot fitting a feature-length Phineas and Ferb adventure and jokes that remain as funny as those of the show.
